Music needs new sounds once in a while, these new sounds change the dynamics of the status quo because their kind of sound is unique. All over the world, we have those who changed the status quo with their music, Wizkid and Davido of Nigeria are typical examples. Just like their counterparts from Nigeria, Lynx Entertainment label mates, KiDi and Kuami Eugene have taken over the music scene and it is good for the industry.
The Duo over the past few weeks have played shows all over the world. They have been to London, Belgium and the Netherlands. With masterful performance, the two showed the world they are ready and are here to stay. What blew me off was the fact that, when I watched videos of their performances the response I saw from the crowd was incredible. Which made me and I am sure others who have seen the video feel Ghana was fully represented.
With songs such as Say You Love Me, Odo, Adiepena, Wish Me Well, Confusion and Angela, the two have made the whole world sing their anthem. This is good for Ghana, not only is it promoting the nation, it is helping to change the narrative about Ghana, that good things can come out of this great nation.
The two have become superstars and it will not be surprising if the two will become internationally acclaimed artiste, just like Wizkid and Davido. Yeah, KiDi and Kuami Eugene are infants to the business, but if they keep up being hardworking and dedicated to their craft, I believe the world would not be able to contain them.
I would urge Ghanaians to not sleep on the talents of these two, because just as their predecessors; Osibisa, Reggie Rockstone, Sarkodie, have opened the doors for them, they [KiDi and Kuami Eugene] are also opening the doors wider for the next generation superstars. To coin word from their phrases, I would say KiDi & Kuami Eugene, “Let’s Go” for Gold and not settle for anything less because both of you are “RoooooooooccccckkkkkkSttttaaaaarrrrrsss!!!!!!!!!!”
