The annual show down between Ghana and Nigeria, Ghana Meets Naija was held over the weekend inside the Fantasy Dome, Trade Fair. The show which brings together the “twins” of Mother Africa is usually organized to bridge the entertainment gap between both nations. This year was no exception, as billed acts thrilled fans with amazing back to back performances.
The Shows Breakdown
The show just like all other musical concerts is raved with amazing performances by the billed acts. This year, the star of the show was the man of the year, Patapaa. Patapeezy as he is widely known these days stole the show with his breath-taking performance. He was all over the place, he didn’t only give the performance of his life. He literally brought the entire venue down. The guy is a superstar and I believe with the right management, Patapaa would take over the world. That is how good his performance was.
Also winning, my attention with their performances were Stonebwoy, Star Boy Wizkid, KiDi, King Promise, Fancy Gadam, Mr Eazi and Mayorkun. Kuami Eugene and Yaa Pono on the other hand weren’t on point for me, I felt the two didn’t have the best night of their performing lives with each not hitting it right with the audience. I would like to use this opportunity to suggest to our performers to always have a plan B when plan A doesn’t go well.
Review On The Organization
The show I would say was very well planned, from making the all very comfortable to giving everyone that attended their monies worth with amazing performances. One thing I found quite distasteful was the sound, at a point the sound wasn’t good during the program. Especially during stonebwoy’s performance, the sound of the live band he was using was louder and I couldn’t hear him clearly. I trust for subsequent concerts the sound engineer in charge of quality sounds would make sure everyone gets the perfect sound. Aside that, the organizers did a wonderful job and I hope we would only see better shows in the coming years.
