Sarkodie explains the rationale behind “Black Love” album

King Sark has dominated the entertainment headlines in the past couple of days after the announcement of his upcoming album. The album which is the 6th of his career features top international acts like Idris Elba, Wande Coal, Rudebwoy, Stonebwoy and many others.

Explaining the message behind the album after the premier of the “Lucky” single which has been released off the album on Hitz Fm with Andy Dosty, Sarkodie said “Black Love” is a project to create awareness and activism for black people to love themselves whether it’s our colour, culture, food, and anything beautiful about the black man.

Talking about the artwork for Lucky which has received some backlash and criticism for it being too explicit, Sark said he sought to project the indigenous African look and the pose and expression in there was to show how Lucky both of them were to have each other hence such an artwork. As to people saying the artwork was to promote homosexuality, King Sark said it is never his intention to do that so such notions should be discarded.

Though the date for the album release and the track list for the album is not yet known but Sarkodie hinted it may be a 24 tracked album and probably a feature of a top notch American artiste. But until then, Lucky is out for streaming and download on all digital stores.
