Ghanaian Afro pop singer and songwriter, Noella Wiyaala has been adjuged the overall artiste of the year at the maiden edition of Ghana Arts and Culture Awards (GACA) which took place on December 7,2019 at the Accra International Conference Center.
The event was organized by the Ghana Arts and Culture company in partnership with the National Commission on Culture (NCC), the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), the National Folklore Board and Tourism Society of Ghana under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture to honour the forerunners and the key players who have contributed immensely to the country’s arts and culture.
The thirty-two year old sensational singer in her thanksgiving speech expressed her excitement for winning such a prestigious award. She said this is a prove that she is really doing something good and that she will continue to do her best in lifting the flag of Ghana
“I want to say a big thank you to everybody for this award. When I started, it was not easy and for a young girl like me, I was a bit confused. I thought I was probably doing something undesirable little did I know this day will come” she said
“And I am very honoured to be among great artistes that I have been nominated with. I respect every artiste and I’ll say this is a motivation for me to keep going. I know I am on the right path. I know Ghana has my back. Thank you and I’ll keep making everybody and Ghana proud,” she added.
The Lioness Neolla Wiyaala whose songs are made with the combination of English and sisaala, her native language have performed on a total of fourty (40) international platforms this year.
