Meggax Is Making Waves In South Africa

Oyedokun Samuel Olushola is a singer-songwriter and performing artist from Lagos, Nigeria. He is artistically known as Meggax and is currently based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

“The name Meggax comes from the meaning Megga, which is something big and he added X to it which means extra big” says Meggax. Meggax has made a great name for himself in the music industry and his music is making big waves all over the world. He has performed on big platforms such as Big Brother Nigeria and continues to make appearances all over Johannesburg.

Meggax started his music career in 2015 and has been going strong. He has always been in the music industry but decided to take his music seriously when he moved to South Africa. His passion for music is derived from being a choir member in his church when he was younger. He describes his type of music to be a mixture of everything which includes R&B, Reggae, Amapiano, Afro-Pop, and Dancehall.

His inspiration to write comes from his experiences, what he goes through and how he feels at that moment is where most of his inspiration to write comes from. In the next years he sees himself using his music to entertain people out there.

Meggax released his latest single “Fire Emoji” in January 2022 and it has been received very well, from people joining in on Tik Tok challenges to jamming to his new single.

He describes himself as a good listener and a person that is very calm. He takes his music very seriously and hopes to inspire others who have the same passion for music that he has.

Meggax loves to be challenged, whatever life throws at him he is willing to take it on. His message to his younger self would be to keep believing, pray and always make sure to grab any opportunity that comes his way. His favourite artists include 2baba, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido, Asa, Runtown and Drake.
