The boys from Keta Business College (KETABUSCO) emerged winners of the 2019/2020 edition of the annual national inter-school basketball competition. They beat their Mfantsipim counterparts and reigning champions in a keenly contested final at the El-Wak Sports Stadium in Accra.
KETABUSCO after defeating Opoku Ware School in the quarterfinals also made light work of Prempeh College in the semis with a score of 33-25 to set up a final date with Mfantsipim School, who beat West Africa Senior High School 23-21 in the other semifinal encounter.
The final which had in attendance Ghanaian singer RJZ of La Meme Gang saw KETABUSCO dominate Mfantsipim School from start to finish as they ended the contest with a score of 48-40 to win their first ever Spriteball Championship.
In the Girl’s division, Western Regional Champions Shama SHS had the last laugh in the final as they rallied from a point down against St. Louis in the first quarter to win the game by a point, with a final score of 15-14 having already beaten Cape Coast Wesley Girls and Kumasi Girls on their way to the final.
The 2019/2020 Spriteball competition took of with a clinic on January 2, 2020 at the University of Ghana with Coach Feranmi Olunlogo and continued with the main games yesterday and today. It attracted a lot of patrons predominantly High School students and alumnus who thronged the El-Wak Sports Stadium to cheer their various schools to victory.
