Budding rapper, Obiri Tete jumps on thrilling hip-hop beats and serves us one of the best storytelling mixtapes out here.
Originally titled Antiphon, Obiri describes the tape as a reply to the energy(ies) around him.
“Everybody around me had something to say about me. Yes, I’m not the best human out here but the voices were too many and I had to reply these energies. I can hardly hold a conversation and music is my escape so which other way to bare my truths?”, says Obiri.
The 6-track mixtape bears a subtitle ‘Stolen Beats, Owned Verses’ to state the metaphorical ambience the tape creates – borrowing melodies to tell original stories.
Three songs on the tape have videos attached to them which will be released soon.
Songs like ‘GuyGuyKwa’, ‘BiTriQuad Polar’ and ‘Ghost of Kwabena’ gives the public a soulful and honest part of Obiri.
The mixtape is currently available on all digital music stores worldwide.
