Event Factory Ghana last Friday picked up two honours at the Ghana Event Awards held at the Silver Star Towers. They were awarded Best Event Set Up of the Year – for Greater Works, and an Honour Award for their flagship comedy brand The Easter Comedy Show. These honours follows similar honours received in the previous year where they were awarded the Best Event Company of the Year.
Receiving the awards, Ethan Laurence, who is the Head of Production expressed thanks and appreciation at the recognition by the GEA, and further expressed similar sentiments to the sponsors, comedians and performers who have contributed to the success story of The Easter Comedy Show.
Speaking on the technical details of the remarkable Greater Works set up, Mr Nabil Alhassan, CEO of Event Factory explained saying such a set up takes almost a month, “we’re the first to deploy and the last to leave the venue. We need to ensure the structure is stable and suitable for all the hundreds of choirs, lights, screens and audio equipment that will be deployed as well as it being able to stand the strong winds over the weeks, considering the independence square is very breezy as it is close to the sea”.
The Easter Comedy Show was recognized as an outstanding platform contributing immensely to the comedy industry in Ghana. With 6 editions done, the Easter Comedy Show happens every Easter Saturday, and it has brought comedians and performers from all across Africa. The next edition will be 11th April 2020.
