Highlife singer Kontihene has reiterated his lack of trust in the management of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs).
Appearing on TV3’s Music Music show, the singer lamented about this lack of confidence when he was asked if he looked forward to getting nominations or winning awards at this year’s VGMAs.
“I don’t trust the VGMA board as their dealings are shrouded in so much secrecy and lacks transparency. I’m not looking forward to any nominations or awards from them”, he disclosed.
Nana Konti also spoke about his long absence from the music scene. He said, “I had to go off to add value to my brand, study the new trends in the industry and then also take a backseat for a while for the young ones to have the chance to excel”.
Kontihene is gradually warming himself back to his fans and into the music fold after his long break from the music scenery. He did a lot of releases last year and he has kick started 2019 in a similar fashion with a new single he calls “Tricks”.
He is well known for hit singles such as “Akatasia” and “Krohinkro” among many others.
