Ghanaian actor and movie producer, Van Vicker has questioned why cinemas were also not opened as part of the further easing of COVID-19 restrictions by the President.

In a chit chat with MzGee on TV3’s New Day, Van Vicker called for the authorities to explain why other public places of gathering like drinking spots and churches have been opened to the public but not cinemas.

He was of the firm believe that, looking at the financial challenges he and his colleagues face in the film industry, it would have been prudent if people were allowed to go to the cinemas for movie makers to also make some income amid these troubling times.

The actor also expressed worry as to how some of his colleagues are still shooting movies in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

He again called on the government to find a way of bringing some life back into the film industry.

Van Vicker who has been inactive on the movie scene in recent times revealed that his inactivity is down to him being in school in the last couple of years.

The actor who turns 43 in a few weeks also announced that he’ll be giving away gifts to his fans in the coming days for supporting his craft all these years as his birthday approaches.
