The recently crowned VGMA artiste of the decade, Sarkodie has disclosed that he won’t stop his daughter from following his footsteps of becoming a musician if she grows up and want to be one.
Speaking to George Quaye on Joy Fm, “Sark” said though he has not thought about pushing her to be an artiste but it is her choice to determine what she wants to become and if it is music and it is not bad, he cannot stop her. “If she wants to do it I’ll definitely pass on the information that I’ve gathered as an artiste but I don’t think I have the right to stop her from what she wants to do”, Sarkodie said when asked about the prospect of his daughter becoming a musician.
Sarkodie went on to also say that though there are bad structures all around our industries and not just music but it all depends on an individual and the willingness to take up any hustle that comes with whatever one wants to become especially if it is to build a musical career. “I think a lot of people come into the industry and allow the lapses in the industry to get in their way but I think as much as we care about how good the industry would be, individually we still have to be wanting to do stuffs for ourselves so we go the extra mile”, he added.
