Well-known Ghanaian gospel artiste made it clear in an interview with Kobby Kyei that he would not have any problem performing at a non-gospel show or concert.
During the interview, Sarpong rightly responded to the question of gospel acts feeling bad for not being called or invited to perform at popular concerts in the entertainment industry, saying that if Shatta Wale or Obrafuor were to consult his management for an invite to perform at their previously held concerts, he would have gone.
Apparently, he doesn’t see a reason why there should be any disparity when it comes to all musical acts performing on the same platform. His genre in music, to him, should not be a ruler in marginalizing an audience.
Good to see such individuals trying to use their influence to break from stereotypes. Well said Kofi Sarpong!
