It’s Painful When DJs Don’t Play My Music On Air – Cina Soul

However, Cina says she’s grateful to the DJs and media outlets that play her music on their shows.

Cina Soul is one of the popular female artists in Ghana who is making waves in the music industry.

In an interview with popular Ghanaian blogger, Kobby Kyei on Artist Vibe Africa, a program on FusionXtra, she lamented that it is very painful when Ghanaian DJs don’t play her music on air compared to how they play other Nigerian artists’ songs.

According to Cina Soul, the issue of Ghanaian radio stations playing more foreign music to the neglect of Ghanaian music is very painful. She added that even though this issue has been talked about over time and nothing has been done about it, she feels there is more to be done to give more airplay to Ghanaian artists.

“It is very painful when a Ghanaian radio station is playing a foreigner’s song that you are even on the same level with”, she lamented.

She stated clearly that she is grateful to the DJs and the media personnel that play her music on their shows.

In the same interview, when she was asked by the interviewer, Kobby Kyei to tell her perspective about the Ghanaian music industry, she stated that the music industry is growing.

She says, “the music industry is growing. I am happy to see young artists headlining their shows and coming up with their own style of music. It tells me the music industry in Ghana is growing”.
