Ace hip-hop/hip life artiste Kwaw Kese has in a show of solidarity for his fellow artistes kicked against the indefinite bans meted out to Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy for their roles in the fracas that marred the 20th VGMAs last Saturday.
Charter house, organizers of the annual VGMAs in a press conference on Thursday, 23rd May, 2019 announced that the two Reggae/Dancehall artistes have been banned indefinitely from the VGMAs and were also stripped of the plagues they won at the just ended VGMAs. The move which has been received with a lot of animosity and backlash especially on social media has seen top industry players speak against the move with some saying it is too harsh a decision and Kwaw Kese does not want to be left out.
The Madtime entertainment boss took to twitter to air his concerns calling his colleagues to show unity and fight together to claim what belongs to them. In tweet, “Katiboom” wrote, “It’s high time we musicians in Ghana come together and fight for what belongs to us. Banning people will not solve the problem. #MOMAGA, “Make Our Music Awards Great Again” “. This seems to have caught the attention of fellow industry players with popularly broadcasters Nana Aba Anamoah and Bridget Otoo all retweeting to show their support for the campaign.
