Ghanaian singer and performer, MzVee, known in real life as, Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda has called on government to come to the aid of players in the creative arts industry especially in these hard times of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking in an interview on Class FM, MzVee revealed that the entertainment industry is one that is financially draining and the pandemic has had its fair share of negative economic impacts on the industry.
She stated that they (creatives) are struggling in the face of this financial challenge and she pleaded with government to look at it and give them help.
“I don’t know what government is trying to do about that because at the end of the day, we are the people who keep life going in this country and the time where we’re struggling, there’s no help coming in like that”, MzVee said when quizzed about how the pandemic has affected her craft.
She added, “Government should really look at this and try to give us help because we really need it. The industry is suffering in terms of money. They need to support the artistes.”
