Good branding is arguably one of the most important things when it comes to ensuring the success of a musician in the music industry.
And I personally believe that branding also demands commitment and hard work. However, protecting one’s brand or image an artiste is another work on its own too. Singer MzVee over the years has kept her brand positively.
The first ever Ghanaian female musician to get nomination at the BET Awards, MzVee, as part of her media tour for her newly released love-themed song, ‘Baby’ has described how authentic and strong her brand is.
In an interview on Pan African TV this week with celebrated female TV Host, Ama Pratt, MzVee was questioned how she protects her brand as a musician.
Responding to the question, MzVee expressed how she has kept her “natural girl, independent woman” style of brand as a musician.
She says she has rejected several profitable deals and brand endorsements purely because those deals don’t fall in line with her brand.
She explained that, “they are lines I won’t cross… this year I’ve turned down quite a number of endorsements because they don’t fall in line with my brand. So yeah, I just don’t cross certain lines. My brand is natural girl, independent woman type of vibe and it’s positive vibes throughout. I’ve a lot kids looking up to me so I try as hard as possible not to go somewhere they shouldn’t be looking at”.
