No Ghanaian appeared in CNN list of top 10 African musicians, are you shocked?

American Media Giant,Cable News Network(CNN) few days ago base a thorough research released their top ten African musicians who are doing extremely well in the American market but shockingly no Ghanaian musician had his or her name appeared in the list.

Nigeria was proudly represented by five top artistes namely Burna Boy, Yemi Alade, Wizkid, Mr Eazi, and Tiwa Savage whiles South Africa had two slots and three other countries had one slot each.

Busiswa Gqulu, a popular South African poet, songwriter and singer, Sho Madjozi also from South Africa, Angelique Kidjo, one of the most respected African musicians from Benin, Mwila Musonda from Zambia and Tanzanian superstar, Diamond Platinumz.

Top Ghanaian musicians, some with BET awards, MTV and many other international recognitions were not captured in the list which has generated lots of conversations both on radio, television and even among fans of these top artistes.

Interestingly, some Ghanaian entertainment critics/pundits sees the work/research by the American media giant as authentic/ credible because they believe Ghanaian musicians have not really invaded the American market as the Nigerians have done.

Ghanaian top artistes like Rocky Dawuni,Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Samini,Fuse ODG are doing their best but on a more serious note, they are doing their best but to be able to have their names appear in such international lists or rankings, it would be more advisable to widen their trade.

Some pundits are of the view that, this is suppose to be a wake up all to Ghanaian musicians to have workable plans and fasten their belts to penetrate more into the international expecially the American market instead of feeling content and relaxed with the the reception from home.
