REGGAE/DANCEHALL IS FADING GRADUALLY IN GHANA – JUPITAR

Ghanaian dancehall artist, Jupitar says reggae/dancehall as a genre of music is fading gradually in Ghana.

The “Enemies” hitmaker made this statement in an interview with kobbykyeinews.com on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 following a question he was asked, “
what is the reggae/dancehall scene like in Ghana?”

He said, “Fading Gradually.”

Again, The General as he is also called explained that both old and new artists of the genre are losing interest as a result of the less attention they are getting from the media.

“Well I personally think media gives less attention and old and new act of the genre are losing interest and switching to other genre .. my harmless opinion though”, he added.

However, Jupitar also believes that Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale are pushing the genre in Ghana though sometimes they mix the reggae/dancehall with afrobeats but they can still do more.

He said, “I always say they both repping the genre hard even though they mix with afrobeats and all people still recognized them as dancehall and reggea acts.. that alone is pushing the genre… salute to both but we can do more.”
