The National Communications Director of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has come under scathing criticism on social media in the last few hours of Tuesday, June 2, 2020 for a cartoon he posted on his twitter page and Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie is the latest to have joined the critics.
The cartoon, netizens say was a cheap and insensitive way of Mr. Gyamfi scoring political points and it seem to make a mockery of the death of George Floyd, the Black-American whose cruel death has triggered outrage among black people across the world who are calling for an end to racism.
But an adamant Sammy Gyamfi who sought to justify his post with another post on Facebook has had Sarkodie advising him to do the honourable by retracting and taking the posts down.
Sarkodie in a reaction to one of Sammy Gyamfi’s tweet wrote, “My brother we all go wrong sometimes… I will believe your intention wasn’t to joke with these serious and very sensitive issues, but you still wrong just do what’s right…. retract n take it down”.
