Unemployment is one of the most outstanding problems in almost all the African continent especially Ghana, it is influencing majority of wrongdoings in our societies. Almost every year bunch of students graduates from school with the hope of getting employed but unfortunately, the system is chocked.
This unfortunate situation did not start today, it has been there only God knows when. Governments – both military and civilian have come and go, manifesto after manifesto yet, the situation remains unchanged.
Ghanaian Internationally recognized musician and development activist, Livingston Etse Satekla has appealed to government to join hands with private entities to continue organizing skill training workshops and empower entrepreneurs to help create more employments for the youth.
The multiple award winning singer and performer believes that one of the most workable ways of reducing the galloping unemployment rate in the country is making the youth embrace vocational training and have entrepreneurial spirit in them so that they will not solely depend on white color jobs.
For instance, in July last year stonebwoy through the Livingston foundation organized a skill training workshop for the people of Ashiaman in the Greater Accra region. This initiative which covered areas such as small scale farming, entrepreneurial development training, food processing, fashion accessories production, production of household cleaning projects etc. is helping hundreds of people to feed themselves and their families.
It is a collective responsibility so Stonebwoy is calling on both government and Non Governmental organizations to come together to help solve this generational problem.
