THERE HASN’T BEEN A RAPPER LIKE ME BEFORE IN GHANA – TOY BOI

Fast-rising Ghanaian rapper, Toyboi has revealed that there hasn’t been a rapper like him before in Ghana.

The rapper who got featured on Sarkodie’s “Biibi Ba” song believes his style of rap is unique compared to others.

Speaking in an interview on Hitz Fm on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, the rapper expressed that there is no rapper who mixes “contemporary with local stuff” in Ghana and for him to use Ga with Twi and English at the same time, it’s uncommon to him.

He said, “…there hasn’t been a rapper in Ghana, that’s mixing contemporary with local stuff, it hasn’t ever happened in Ghana. It’s hasn’t ever happened.”

“So for me to be simultaneously mixing Ga with Twi and English, not just English but good English, is like my best selling point…There hasn’t been a rapper like Toyboi before.”

“You can listen to a different rapper and say this is like the next Sarkodie but you can’t listen to me and say I’m next anybody. Like I’m my own breed, there hasn’t been a rapper like me before, never”, he added.
