Vodafone Icons Paved Way For My Music Career – Cina Soul

For many artists, the passion to become a musician started at different points. Some may boast of singing in the choir and others say they are born with it.

Christie Quincyna Quarcoopome popularly known in showbiz as Cina Soul is a Ghanaian singer, songwriter and recording artist. A finalist at the 2014 Vodafone Icons competition held in Accra, Ghana.

Cina Soul is one of the few female musicians who has been vibrant since her appearance on the music scene. Her type of music resonates with many music lovers in Ghana.

‘Ojorley’ – one of her popular songs has received countless airplay on both radio and TV. She has collaborated with some influential Ghanaian musicians including M.anifest, Worlasi, KiDi and M.I Abaga from Nigeria.

For the talented singer, her music career started the very day she got auditioned for Vodafone Ghana Music Icons Competition.

Recalling how she started her music career in an interview with Kobby Kyei on Artist Vibe Africa on FusionXtra, she said her journey to stardom begun the moment she went for the Vodafone Icons audition in 2014.

According to Cina Soul, even though she loves singing, she had no plan of becoming a musician until she participated in the music reality show.

It is a general assumption that talents who win reality shows in Ghana do not make it to the limelight. According to Cina Soul who was also a product of a reality show, she debunked the claim by saying it is not always the case.

“Except for KiDi who broke that record of the artist not always making it to limelight after winning reality shows, I think it has to do with hard work. You don’t relax when you win”, she said.

She added that even though she made it to the finals of the competition but didn’t win, she learned to work harder and that’s what brought her to where she is today.
